A wireless connection means it provides the network connectivity between devices by using radio as the communication medium. When we are installing windows server 2016 or windows server 2012 r2, by default wireless will not be enable there. So we have to enable that wireless connection.
Steps to enable the wireless connection in windows server 2016 or windows server 2012 r2:
The steps to enable wireless is same for both Windows server 2016 and windows server 2012 r2.
Open “Server manager” and then go to the “Add roles and features” as shown given below-
After clicking add roles and features, go to “before you begin” and click next.

In the “installation type”, select on ‘Role-based or feature-based installation’ (by default it is already selected in there only) and click next as below in the fig.
In “server selection”, select ‘Select a server from the server pool’ (by default it is already selected in there only) and then click next.
In “Server Roles”, there is no need to select anything and then click next.
In “Features”, put check on the check box of “Wireless LAN Service” and click next.
Select “Confirmation” and put check on the check box of “Restart the destination server automatically if required” and if you want to allow automatic restart then click ‘Yes’ otherwise ‘No’ and then click “Install” as shown in the figure .
Then you can see in the Results page, the installation will progress. And once the installation over, you can see wifi in the system.
Hence we enabled the wireless connectivity in windows server 2016 or windows server 2012 r2 after these following steps which are mentioned in above.
